Features

Dual Cascading Gain Stages

  • Burr Brown Op: Amp powered at 24v for maximum fidelity and punch
  • Gain A: UltraViolet LEDs for open and dynamic saturation with low amounts of compression
  • Gain B: The G/S switch selects between two different diodes to change the distortion characteristics.
  • Gain B Clipping switch (G): NOS (New Old Stock) Germanium Diodes: For high distortion and compression that is accompanied by a gentle rolloff of treble
  • Gain B Clipping switch (S): NOS Silicon Diodes: For medium gain with a good deal less compression than the Germanium diodes

EQ

  • High & Low EQ: An active EQ section allowing for +/- 10db of cut or boost. The controls are non-interactive to allow for a wide range of eq settings. The mid point between the EQ adjustments is set at 1kHz.

Robust Power Handling

  • 9VDC, 2.1mm center negative barrel, 116mA current draw
  • Internally boosted voltage to 24v for high headroom and clarity
  • Overvoltage and reverse voltage protection
  • Note: We recommend a quality regulated and isolated power supply. Our pedals do not accept batteries.

Enclosure & I/O

  • True bypass switching
  • Bespoke heavy duty aluminum enclosure
  • Automotive grade powder coat paint - this stuff is durable!
  • Solid aluminum knobs

Controls

Volume: Passive volume control

Gain A: Ultra bright UV LEDs in a soft clipping configuration. Allows for subtle compression to thick distortion. As the gain knob is turned up, harsh high frequencies are reduced and a 1kHz peak is formed.

Gain B: A “Hard Clipping” distortion tuned to provide anywhere from light texture to tight articulate distortion. The clipping selector to the right of Gain B changes the diodes and overall texture of this stage. The output of Gain B is highly influenced by Gain A.

Clipping Selector: Switches between NOS germanium diodes for a thick compressed and textural distortion or NOS silicon for a tighter and articulate distortion with more clean headroom.

High & Low EQ: An active EQ section allowing for +/- 10db of cut or boost. The controls are non-interactive to allow for a wide range of eq settings. The mid point between the EQ adjustments is set at 1kHz.

Perfect studio tool and live supplement!

Decoherence can go from a flexible boost with hair all the way to thick leads and even some big ol' chugs all on its own! When you stack it with an already overdriven signal or pushed amp, the unique tone stack makes it a versatile tool to land on the right texture to compliment any sound you have in your head. The unit itself is rock solid and will definitely stand the rigors of festival season. Decoherence is a BEAST and has earned its spot in my chain!
